I could probably get it moved to the "Folding Guides" section for you.  Or just come in and bump it daily ;)

Lol, would be great if it got into the guides section. I forgot about this thread for a month already, fail will be imminent tongue.gif

Question: Is there any advantage to folding in Ubuntu SMP vs Win7 native?
I ask, because I am Folding SMP in a Ubuntu VM right now. 4 cores, getting the same PPD as if I were to add a SMP slot to my v7 client already running in Win7.
Using VMware Player, so limited to 4 cores anyways, Ubuntu 12.10, v7 Client form F@H. Just downloaded the client from F@H and ran it. Since that is the only thing running in the VM. Wasnt worried about changing directories etc.

Yes, if you take a look at the PPD database, there is quite a lot of difference between the two. VM is also quite a bit slower than native Linux.

Ok, I asked because I am seeing the same PPD. But, instead of WU that take 6-10 hrs to complete. It keeps getting these 2hr WU. Just pumping em out. 8056 WU's. Just that I fold GPU for TC. Dont have a test bed computer to figure out how to get GPU folding working in WINE or VM.

You did a great job on this Blademaster.thumbsupsmiley.png

Formula One Cars and Indy Cars are close in top speed. Indy Cars are 20 mph faster then F1 cars. But the real question is can Indy Cars turn at 215mph. the truth is no they cant, but F1 cars can. If you like watching people crash on ovals be my guest and watch Indy cars & NASCAR, if you truly like motor sport you would watch F1.

AMD GPUs can't fold in UNIX even through wine. PPD is highly dependent on the unit you fold as well.
