There's always something better on the horizon so waiting isn't always best. If you knew the GTX 7xx was a month away that's one thing but I haven't seen anything that says it will be out by end of Feb so that's at least four months.

My suggestion would be to pick up a used 680 from one of the many people selling their cards in preparation of the 8xxx/ switching to a 7970, or buying a new 670.

It depends on what you have right now and how much you really need that 680.

Tough question to answer, i'm waiting myself after selling my 680's. But it depends on what your currently using to be honest. Also, take into account that Nvidia's 700 series could be March 2013 at the earliest, still a long wait. I'm not sure when AMD's 8xxx series is coming, but it'll be a lot sooner than Nvidia that's for sure.

If your current gaming experience isn't rocking your world, then maybe pick up something like a 7950/70 for the time being. It's a lot cheaper than buying anything Nvidia atm.

correct. if you have decent card you could wait till March 2013. But remember pricing is always going to suck on the bleeding edge latest gen products. the HD 7950 is just unbeatable in terms of value for your money. Overclocked HD 7950 can keep up with overclocked HD 7970 and overclocked GTX 680 while costing much lesser.

I think there were a few rumors that said January which I hope to be true.

I'm selling a 670 for pretty cheap here:
http://www.overclock.net/t/1323109/2x-gtx-670s-xspc-razor-water-block-price-drop-need-these-gone/0_20

HINT HINT NUDGE NUDGE

But in all seriousness it's a very good buy, 670s really hold their water and exceed 680s when overclocked

- Laing DDC pump w/ XSPC reservoir top
- Apogee HD CPU waterblock
- Distilled + kill coil
- 280mm Magicool slim rad + 120mm XSPC slim rad
