As of now I have a 8600GT but I want to upgrade. My question is this: Is it worth waiting until fall to wait until newer cards come out and prices drop, or should it be a necessity to get one now?

Feedback please!!!

And if you have been in this dilemma before, I would like to hear your story of waiting or just buying one.

If you play WoW hit me up on firetree or destromath.

New cards come out quite often. If you want a 9800X2 I would wait a few months until the price drops. If you aren't getting that I would just get it now.

What is your budget? there is always something new and/or price cuts on the horizon. I would recommend an 8800GT or GTS. Either one will do a good job with that monitor.

the 8800GTS 512 is an amazing card. If you're looking to upgrade, but don't really have the money for an 9800, i would get that.

my budget is from the 200-300 dollar range. I have debated on the 8800gt or gts. I guess I can just bite the bullet and buy it. If i find a deal I might go SLI if they are enabled.

I, personally, would save some money and get the GTS. Since the prices have been dropping on them and that is plent for a 22". the 9 series does not look all that impressive and, IMO, it is a waste to buy something brand new when the prices are inflated. If you really want a 9 series, wait until they are out for a bit and the "newness" wears off.

I don't necessarily want the 9 series, I just want one of the better cards. So if I decided on a 9 series I will wait, but if I want the 8800 I think I will get one now.
