Hey again, well the tables have turned a little since last time i posted... I was going to wait for the GTX 560 to come out later this month but there is rumours that it will cost around £220+ and i don't want to spend that kind of money.

So iv just found the Zotac GTX 470 at £190 on offer from £240 at ebuyer. do you think its worth to get the GTX 470 considering its low price??

Cheers

P.S. Heres the link for the 470: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/202283

I have changed my mind again (always doing this =/...) anyways i might just stick with a GTX 460 considering my lowish resolution (1680 x 1050) and with the extra money spare i will get an SSD. with that i can gain improvement for both graphics, and OS speeds.

470 is definately worth the extra 40 in my opinion. then you could get a small ssd for a windows boot drive, as well as whatever game really depends on being in the server first (on my raid 0 setup at my dads i have 2 sata II drives in short stroke and im always the first in the server on bf2)

but graphics card is definately something to spend a little more on.

ssd is always a future upgrade as the price is still dropping at a decent rate. i would recommend going for the 470 by far

2. I have a severely jaded opinion on several subjects, almost everything i say should be taken with a grain of salt.
3. Finally, I'm here because i enjoy helping people. Anybody can mail me and i will respond trying to give as much help as i can.

The 460 will be plenty at that res and you can skip the refreshes. With the problems nVidia has been having with drivers and such, probably not worth buying the 560 anyways as they'll probably have something better coming when they get it working properly, not to mention it could take awhile to get one.

Use the extra cash for a platform upgrade. Wait on Bulldozer or start buying stuff for Sandy Bridge. You could buy a part a month or something.

well i bought the GTX 460 last night from EVGA so if the GTX 560's are as good as they think i can step up. And im waiting till bulldozer is released before i do a platform upgrade as i will be needing motherboard, processor and memory and it will just be expensive. So i'll wait and the sandy bridge processors may have dropped in price, or even the older 1366 may have aswell smile.gif
