I don't have a circuit pencil, but i do have solder and a gun. Would this be fine for volt mods? I can't imagine that it would hurt the card since it all had to get soldered at some point. The only drawback I can think of is if I mess up it would be hard to redo it.

Don't use a gun, you'll cover the back in solder.

You can use a regular pencil for some mods if you just have to change the resistance between two close points.

Soldering guns are for pipes and big projects, you'll likely wreck your card with one.

yes, what Mootsfox said. Also, u dont have to have a circuit pencil. I used a school pencil i got from staples and it works fine. Just try it with different types of lead. Some work better than others.

with the pencil you shade over the resistor so the resistance is decreased...if your going to solder it you going to get the resistance very low..probably to the point where its like there isnt even a resistor present...resulting in a possible dead card..or quickly dying card.
