I have discovered a program not too long ago and want to share my info with those of you at OCN!

Many of you may already know of this program called SuperCache and what it does, and other alternatives like FancyCache.

SuperCache Homepage

I will be adding tests of before and after with both programs later as it is late and I have school tomorrow.

So far with my laptop (specs in sig) I have been able to hit 3gbps with my HDD which without maxes out around 100mbps on ATTO. Note that these speeds can only be sustained until the cache fills up mine is set to about 3gb with deferred write at 7 secs.

Results and screenshots to follow tomorrow.

FancyCache has been in beta for a while now, the major feature it's lacking that prevents it from being as effective as other caching methods like SRT is that it's a non-persistent cache, it gets deleted every reboot. So it can't do anything to accelerate bootup. It's much more configurable than ReadyBoost tho. Could be an interesting product if it ever gets out of beta and doesnt cost a fortune.

SuperCache doesnt recommend using itself on a boot volume and the $80 price is a deterrent, Id rather buy an SSD or look into a hardware solution for that price.

AMD needs to publish a Business Manual called "How Not to Launch a Product: Learn from our Mistakes and Succeed!".
AMD probably wont tho, because that would be a guaranteed money maker.
