I have a Samsung NP700Z5C-S01UB
I also purchased a brand new Samsung 840 EVO SSD

Windows will load off the DVD - windows see's the drive and partitions, but then will not write the files to the disk. When the computer boots it boots to the DVD drive every time as though it can't see the Hard drive....

How do I fix this?

have you tried booting without the dvd in the drive? boot priority could be changed in bios. if you get "no os found" or something of the sort, then the SSD actually is blank and we can move on from there.

1. If you don't agree with something I say, please don't flame me, either politely correct me, or send me a PM and tell me to fix it.
2. I have a severely jaded opinion on several subjects, almost everything i say should be taken with a grain of salt.
3. Finally, I'm here because i enjoy helping people. Anybody can mail me and i will respond trying to give as much help as i can.

Always great to hear feedback.

Its a laptop

When booting off a windows instillation disc the Install process see's the drive and will allow you to delete partitions.
However you can't boot from the drive after windows try's installing.
Windows loads the DVD into Ram - then it has a problem when it tires un-packaging to the hard drive. It stays at 0% and eventually reboots.

Try using a different DVD or flash drive to install Windows as it could be a corrupt installer.

This is a DVD that has never been used and was a factory Samsung recovery disk.
I was recommended today to load drivers at the beginning of the Windows install process.... but that isn't not necessary as the Windows instillation see's the drive and will partition it.

I ended up putting a 512 GB agility 4 drive back into the computer.

I bought a new computer tonight a Samsung ATVI 8 Book with a I7 3 Gen.... (while samsung will most likely come out next month with the i7 4th Gen) anyway... now I am having trouble getting a clone on the drive.

What is a good Dos Cloning software?
Thanks!

for drive cloning, i like clonezilla, and have used it many times. however keep in mind that with most cloning software, you cannot write an image to a drive that is smaller than the cloned drive, even if the used space is smaller than the target drive.

can clone from 128gb to 500gb, cannot clone 500gb to 128gb.
