okay im reinstalling vista 64 on my desktop, and im doing it right this time

RAID Drivers were all installed now i want to get the partition done right too:

I have 4x 250GB HDD's in RAID 0, 64k stripe - With vista 64 (sp1 pre-loaded) how much space should i dedicate to the OS partition? (I have about 930GB space total)

I vote 20GB to the O/S itself.

I personally though have 2x250GB WD AAKS's in Raid0 64k and I use them just as a whole partition for everything (Games/Storage/ETC...) and I split my 74GB Raptor 10,000RPM down the middle and gave about 25GB to the O/S.

I will say I have no idea if this was smart. I plan to reformat my system several times over after I upgrade again and run a variety of tests under different settings.

But Vista 64bit takes like 16GB on its own... my last install was around 14-15 minus several months of updates

Since i have 900GB... should I just dedicate like 80GB-100GB to OS?

**** sorry I was thinking XP

To be honest I think the logical math would be the OS itself times 3 which is maybe 50GB

Hmm...

I'd stick to Microsoft official system requirements: 40 GB for OS
80 GB for apps and games
all the rest personal files/my documents
