Hmmm very strage. I was going to say it sounds like Windows changed your bus speed to PIO mode, but you have SATA. Something got screwed up with the SATA controller driver that was limiting transfers to 4MB/s.

Hmm, no way to find out now, but it could just have been that; maybe if I'd just reinstalled/updated the chipset drivers, it would have been fixed. Oh well... if it happens again, I'll do that first.
