Phenom II is irrelevant now. Old tech that is pretty soundly beaten by Piledriver.

Now that Piledriver is out and the biggest FX core performance is a hair behind Phenom II. You guys act like its a huge leap forward for AMD. Its a step in the right direction, but still a step behind. Steamroller will be worth celebrating, most should skip Vishera.

generally speaking, BD and PD only ran slower in heavily threaded FPU legacy applications that used Intel code tools. Wether you like this reality or not, makes no difference to me, but the BD and PD fpu performance scales excelent up till the 4 fpus saturate, and those 4fpu's massively outperform the PHII fpu's.

Also who are you to devine to other what upgrades they should skip and what upgrades they should make. your comments drip of ignorance and being a shill

hyper threading gives you a slightly bigger toilet, and 2 people try to poop at once.

CMT gives you 2 toilets of same size, and a slightly smaller bathroom stall. Two toilets, 2 butts, poop in peace.

At people wondering about their Asus motherboard, not one of their motherboard has been updated for Vishera yet, just be patient. The fact that the Crossair V hasn't been updated is a sign, Asus won't let AM3+ users down. Technically, all motherboards that support Bulldozer should support Vishera.

Their $219 price is high compared to the MSRP. I wonder if they will drop it.

They will drop it but not during first month. They know enthusiasms are ready to pay the extra ~20$

Well of course it does, it's an i7, a ~300$ CPU, it has to.

Hi,
since I can speak czech I can add some info from the review above. As the overclockability concerns, in that review they weren´t able to push it to 4,8Ghz on 1,535V stable! So either there are big differences among chips delivered in the first batches or it could be some bios problems or......

The only thing that stops me from agreeing with you 100 percent is I need to know how it OCs before I can comment. With a cheap enough cooler and a 5ghz oc, it trade blows with an i7 3770K at stock and you save maybe 100 bucks or so, then it would be a good way to get good performance out on a budget.

But if someone has the money, it is probably best if people would skip this chip and stick with intel.

But like I said, all the performance numbers we have been seeing so far could still be tampered with, or there could simply be some anomaly. I will only form my final opinions when I can go get one for myself, do some benchmarks, and watch the AMD stock fall some more tongue.gif
