True, but too much a lateral move to be worth it to me. Still, I cant wait to see some crossfire benchmarks to see how 2x RX480's stand up to a single GTX1070.

AMD needs to publish a Business Manual called "How Not to Launch a Product: Learn from our Mistakes and Succeed!".
AMD probably wont tho, because that would be a guaranteed money maker.

Graphic card companies have been making a killing on GPUs per sale, most cards only cost a fraction of their retail price, for example a 1070 probably only costs 30-50 to make per. NVidia didn't get rich from selling expensive. A GDDR5 module costs about 10 to 20 cents per.

we'll find out rather soon, won't we? I'm guessing it will be better than the 980, but that's just an uninformed guess.

It's 230mm, when did he assume it was going to compete with the 1080? They've been saying for a year now polaris was a mainstream card. It's just so funny watching him get all angry over AMD's success

Yeah am deffo getting 480/x over the 1070 if its that cheap and performance/power.

Yeah Kyle changing goal posts to price now lol. He is supposed to be Tech enthusiast, and should know you cant name or sell a "big" chip down to 480 or GP106 levels roflmao. I think [H] gave opinion based on what happened with previous AMD gen cards (noob mistake).

I can see this falling in between the 380x and the 390 in performance and being quite close to the 390

Reason for this is that I don't think AMD are ready to retire the Fury and will keep on selling it until Vega - we will see

It's a complete and utter failure if it doesn't match 390 performance, just saying.

Holy crap. If true, I may just buy two of these and call it a day. That's pretty amazing.

If, and only IF it's better than the R9 390, and it has 8GB of VRAM, i'll gladly sell my r9 390 with an AIO on it and buy 2 RX 480(x)'s for crossfire.

Current gaming build:
