This is a quandry for nvidia they can't get the tech to move sli , they can't buy amd
cause its x86 lisc is non transferable ,and they played thier hand at controlling sli,
I am thinking Intel may buy Nvidia!
In a very ugly bitter takeover , which is why Nvidia wants AMD!
Knowing Intel they would rather watch the whole company crash and burn, they
really don't need anything Nvidia has. Why spend money on them ?
I predicted this about 5 months ago if you read some of my posts . You can't be an arrogant prick forever (nividia) unless you have a MAJOR holding company that backs
you with endless cash (Intel). My 2 c

I am not down with the "standard".

NVIDIA can buy AMD and still use the x86 license. They can keep the AMD as a subsidiary. If it isn't a hostile takeover, there's probably at least 4 different ways to merger the two companies and keep the license intact.

To answer most of your questions: (1) a fridge cannot cool a PC (2) 64-bit OS for over 3.4GB (3) If a PCIe card fits, it should work (4) Resolution, not screen size (5) Report, not respond to Spam (6) Single-Rail/Non-Modular PSUs are not always better than Multi-Rail/Modular (7) Sequential does not matter as much as random for OS drives (8) Requirements come before hardware for servers

Um they cannot ,there are a few artilcles about it duckie

It cannot be used if the company is bought or traded.
Intel has one hell of a contract writing team , and for good reason.

Hell I wish they could seing as how they would like to re-architect
AMD chips , then we would have a real competition in the cpu market.
Nvidia are insane engineers , Ill give them that.

In my opinion it's called... "Stick to what you are good at... and be the best at that".

Too many companies try to play both sides of the field and inevitably lose on both sides. Nvidia has the graphics market virtually tied up right now... with an eye on ATI every now and then. Intel has AMD... we as consumers have choices.

When Intel tried making graphic chipsets... I said the same thing... "stay out of that market...it's not what you are good at doing.".

Either way, this is not promoting a monopoly... however with the current situation we as consumers lose since we can't get the best of both worlds due to them witholding technology from one another.

Initially, many companies were masters at one thing, then expanded onto other product lines and advancements, kind of the only way a company can grow.

Also, without other competitors, prices go up due to lack of competition...

Fully agree! Business can be dirty sometimes but Intel and MS take it to the next level.

Intel will just end up digging their own grave here.....

People will still buy nvidia SLI boards but use AMD instead.

Which means intel will loose the custom of many hardcore users.
