In just about one week the dual-GPU, dual-PCB GeForce 9800 GX2 will be officially released and is one graphics card that will make us regret that we didn't ask Santa for a salary raise for Christmas.

With two 65nm G92-450 chips to power it the GeForce 9800 GX2 will offer very nice scores but the price one will have to pay to have it is way too spicy. Still, if in Europe you can get an overclocked version for 518 euros or $794 in the US a stock GeForce 9800 GX2, made by PNY is priced at just under $600. Of course, it still isn't cheap enough to make any sense but those looking for a GeForce 9 series Quad-SLI setup will certainly be better off getting the cards from North America (as usual).

Ouch. If these cards are going to be this expensive, they better be worth it.

Well it seems that an overclocked version in the UK is going to cost me £400+

They better be worth the expense.

The way I look at it, in the step up programme if I have to give my card back and pay another £200 then screw it. £150 would be my absolute very maximum.

OR fleabay the GTS and get a 3870x2?

OR Step up to the GX2 and sell it sealed in box on fleabay?

HMMMM

Sorry, carried away with font size.

I have seen some site that have them listed as much as $685

I hope the evga ones are in the $600 range so I can step-up both of my GTS.

And as said, PNY will be one the cheapest manufacturers too. It doesn't look good for us stepping up my friend. Could always wait to the very last day of your step up to see if prices go down.
