Associate was concentrated on how DDR3 selling prices change. As is known, DDR3 memory is excessively expensive, especially in comparison with DDR 2 memory, in addition the performances is about the same between those memory in the majority of cases.
Quote:
Associates was tracking the prices of memory module corsair DDR 3-1333 (PC 3-10667) and it noted huge price drop for the 2 GB version from 750$ to 325 dollars.

Quote:
Associate note that the huge drop in DDR 3- prices is connected with the appearance of appropriate chipsets, that support DDR 3-2000 memory officially , for example, with the announced recently NVIDIA nForce 790i and 790i Ultra, and also Intel x48, which besides DDR2 will support DDR3 memory .

until this kit starts selling for ~200 bucks, i am steering away from DDR3...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231167

DDR1 = 400Mhz
DDR2 = 800mhz (twice as fast as DDR1)
DDR3 should equal 1600mhz, which is twice as fast as DDR2... Any slower and its not worth it...

Check out these DDR3's: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227292
It's not the fastest out there but it's faster than the ddr2 equivolent and will get your foot in the door. If you're building now, with a kit like that at that price, there is no point in getting a ddr2 mobo knowing you'll have to upgrade later if you want faster DDR3 when prices drop even more. And if your thinking your next upgrade will be nehelem anyway you'll already have some ddr3 to help lower that build cost. This is good ram for the money.

Awesome......I'm kinda scared of the prices I'll have to pay for my DDR3 when Nehalem arrives.
