The first 2 models from the GeForce 9900 series will be 9900 GTX and 9900 GTS instead of 9900 GT we reported earlier. It seems Nvidia has decided to launch them as early as July to counter RV770 and steal the performance crown away. Nvidia has earlier confirmed GT200 existence and revealed that the GPU has about 1B transistors. Our sources are suggesting a 512-bit memory interface with GDDR3 memories for GeForce 9900 GTX using P651 PCB and a 448-bit memory interface for the GeForce 9900 GTS.

Good news, that's about the time I'm building a new pc anyway. Hope these aren't horribly overpriced...

Well imo, Nvidia is rushing the 9series out way to fast just to stay on top of ATI. They even released a new generation of cards that imo, was WAY to hyped up. They wanted people to think the new generation is far more superior. It is superior, but not enough for the new generation. The 9900 series isn't going to be to much better than what the 9800 is. Possibly an overclocked die shrunk GPU? Ati is putting on the pressure, and this is coming from a 8800GT user

Well the article didnt specifically say that these two cards are gt200, it just mentioned these two cards and gt200.

With those memory controllers, that means at least one company will come out with either 1.5 or 1.3 gigs of memory

I could only assume they are GT200 just because I dont think another reworked G92 could beat a rv770.

Where else can you go from a "die shrunk, overclocked" previous version of a GPU? What else can be done to cure people's desire for a "new generation" card? What else do you require to qualify a new video card as a "new generation?"

Oh really? 512-Bit interface sounds sweet, lets hope it comes true.
