To say that quad 7900GTXs are beat by a x1900xt is absurd. I don't know why you would believe it!

It just further proves the ignorance of the Inquirer

Quad SLi will let you use 32x AA
It's a 7900GX2 setup... It's nothing like a 7900GTX setup...

click me have a look at this, its better than that bit from the inquirer.

id take 2 xfx 7900GTX's (700mhz core and 1.8ghz memory) Sli'ed over a quad setup any day.

Well sure... a Dual 7900GTXs setup is much better than a Dual 7900GX2s (Quad GPU/SLi) and cost less!!! but like mentioned befor... Quad SLi is so cool!!!

Well with those results, it seems that its just a matter of how huge of a resolution and how maxed out the AA is. The quad sli will outperform with everything maxed out, but the ati crossfire will outperform at lower settings...and ati would cost less since only 2 cards.. lol

not to mention... dude, its the inquirer... they used to talk about how close Pentium V was and how it might reach 10ghz anytime now... lol
NOT GONNA HAPPEN ANYTIME SOON!
funny... conroe or merom might be named pentium V and its downclocked from pentium 4
You forget that Tejas was next on the intel roadmap.

The 7900 GX2 have lower specs than the current new cards, it's just that they have 2 GPUs on each card. If it were the next gen cards it wouldn't lose on par. I would guess if they had those next gen cards right now it would cost 1k for each card, not $800 and hence 2k for both. But talking in the few years the cards would be around $800 each. It's just how technology works. You can't pay ur babysitter the same wages if you wanted he/she to work more than usual. The GPU on the 7900 GTX ranges from $500, on the other hand the 7900 GX2 are only $400 for each GPU. I bet the DX10 will be more of quad-sli improvement rather than single cards, since games are putting more into that way anways. And what starts all of this? Dell, j/k, but they did convinced the high resolution gaming with their 30" monitor, that's so sexy, even though it aint that great, it's good. I just think that the 7950 GX2 is just pointless since DX10 cards are so close...I would rather wait...and until Dell improves their 30" monitor it's that good time to upgrade everything w/ Windows Vista itself.

What idiot would run Quad SLI at anything below 1920x1200? Anything below that is completely pointless because 2 cards would run 1600x1200 maxed as it is. If you buy Quad SLI and run it below 1920x1600, then you have wasted the potential of that system.
