Finally got my B&K Reference 50 S2 hooked up with my Anthem PVA 7 amp. It sounds great. biggrin.gif The amp really brings my Swan speakers to life. The bass is so much tighter and faster than it was with my Yamaha RX v465, and rightfully so.

The 2 channel reproduction with 24/96 FLAC and 16/48 FLAC is great. It's not as detailed as I was hoping, but it is still very respectable. The amplifier really makes the biggest difference. DTS playback is very good. There is far more separation and transparency in all channels than there was with the Yamaha. IMO, the Yamaha really only made "noise" in the rear channels. With the B&K I can actually hear what's happening in the rear channels.

For the price I paid for this thing (near what I paid for my Yamaha RX V465 when I bought it new) I cannot complain whatsoever. This thing is a gem and it is going to keep my happy until I can blow more money on brand new equipment.

Sorry for the crap pictures. I only have my work Blackberry until the Canon S100 comes out.

Your dad has an SX-1980 in the garage?

I don't even want to know what he's got in the living room. It better not be a cheap HT-in-a-box, lol

As for speakers, check out the Marantz HD-880. They have a rated power handling of 250W, so they can take advantage of every little bit of power that Pioneer can put out. And they sound really good too smile.gif

That beast needs its own circuit. So how does it sound?
