I actually may be looking to get a EVGA board for once. Always have used Asus been wanting to try EVGA and Gigabyte. Actually had a UD5 but didn't like the Bios settings, got the 990fx sabertooth. UEFI is very nice.

Avoid Evga like a plague. Their bios is garbage.

I am planning on dropping some major cash on my next build. It is a long over due since my current build is Core 2 duo E6750. It would be night and day for me. I just wish intel released Sandybridge-E before BF3 Launch but I guess I just have to wait a bit. I am pretty much set on 3930K and looking to do some crazy O/C. What do you guys think about 5Ghz with watercooling? I am really looking forward to this project.

What exactly makes it garbage? I've never owned an EVGA board... kind of curious?

Would like to know this also.

Don, are you referring to increments in tweaking settings or what?

What about them?

Asus has recently come out with some revisions for PCI-E 3 and a few manufacturers support it as well, but not native USB 3. And they will support IB.

I don't quite understand. If my board runs on Z68, yet all of the new chipsets for IB are things like Z77, Z75, H77, Q77, Q75 and B75, what happens when you plug an IB CPU into a Z68 board? Will it do exactly the same thing as sandy bridge? (That is, Intel Smart Response while permitting overclocking and onboard graphics) Or will it behave differently?

In other words, what will these new 7x chipsets be able to do that a Z68 won't?

When IB is used with z68 it should act teh same but have better speed per core in general. The chipset will just limit some features.

Some should have teh same features, maybe not all of them and others may have more. It is mostly additional sata 3 ports, maybe some sas ports and native usb 3 from what I know so far.

Ahh...finally I found a good thread/info about the upcoming x79 stuff. I'm trying to convince myself that I don't need it but once the benchmarks are out there, I'll probably get an SB-E setup anyways. Thanks to the thread starter and contributors, my wallet now hates you haha.
