I have my Pentium D overclocked to 4.0 GHz up from 2.66. I can do SuperPi and normal tasks without any problems. But when I run ORTHOS it just restarts. So there is something unstable about it and I don't know what.

Pentium D
FSB 533 OC'd to 800
Vcore at 1.5

RAM is left to default, 667
all auto timings (5-4-4-14)

What is so unstable with this setup?

Thanks!

Post a CPU-Z screenshot and what speed is your RAM currently running at?

I just left the RAM alone, made sure it was set to 667 MHz and left the timings on AUTO and it stayed at this. When i move the RAM at all it becomes super unstable.

And my temps are great. When ORTHOS does run, my temps are around 40C. Idle is around 28C

But That's the thing, I can't do orthos for very long at all. Maybe 10 minutes until I get an error. I can do superpi except for 32 million. I had it start and walked away and came back to a restarted computer haha.

You may need to worry about your other voltages, especially the North Bridge voltage. That held me back from an extreme overclock...

Okay. It is currently set at 1.4. I only have two options, either 1.4 or 1.5. Do you think this .1V jump would make it stable?
