My Q66 has a huge difference in core temps as well. Both the HSF and the CPU is lapped.

At load Cores 0 and 1 are at around 65-66, Core 2 and 3 are alwasy 6-7 Degrees cooler, even at 100% load.

I just got a hold of another tapered Q6600 G0 and this time the hole is not located on the top part of the IHS. Rather, it's located at the lower part of the IHS. Weired! Haven't messed with it just yet. The batch # reads:

Tapered edges make it easier to lap no doubt.

After lapping the quad all my temps under load are the same when I up the vcore. At low voltage the are slightly different. It's only 5 minutes but you get the idea, the screen was taken to show how much vdroop I had.

I think ambient was close to 80°F, but not to sure. I didn't have the a/c running for a while and I raised the vcore just to check if the pencil mod worked on my board and to see how much of a difference it made. I was running it at a lower speed but this was for comparison. Temp still holds me back though. I can't seem to get stable at 3.6ghz but I can run 3dmark at 3.7ghz. I probably can at 3.8ghz too but my ram don't like it.
