Got my rig running last night. Gonna start overclocking tonight. I'll check in with my progress...

I'm stable 6+ hrs P95 with small FFTs but when I switch to blend it fails core 3 after about 6 mins and it's always core 3

Do I lower memory to 1:1
up mem voltage
up nb voltage ?
Small FFT is harder on the CPU and PSU. It gives you the most heat production and vdroop. Blend hits your memory more. Since blend is where your problems occur I'd try upping mem voltage or NB voltage. You might need both. Are you stable in memtest?

Grats big shades. Hopefully you'll get an E0

yes my memory is stable in memtest
woke up this morning
465 fsb stable for 6hrs blend on P95 by upping NB to 1.49

I think 471 is a lost cause at this point.
Will probably need 1.65 NB to get it stable mobo seems to really be holding me back.
Vcore is at 1.28v and running 465 fine I don't think it would take over 1.36v to hit 471 on the CPU so i'm convinced it's the chipset

sticking with 465 for 24/7
going to maybe try and get 468-470 stable as a personal goal

Is there a way to view old P95 data?
I was running it while at work and my roommate shut my computer off. Was hoping to see how long it was stable.

i believe it will be in a file in the folder that prime95.exe is in and is called results.txt, and i believe it shows the results of your last pirme95 run. so for example if you have prime95 installed in your program files then you will need to go there and open the prime95 folder and look for that txt file. hope that helps.

Well, just testing the Q9550 out before overclocking...Looks like I'm running a little warm at stock clock. Temps are in the 40C range. Lowest at about 38C.

Any tips?

If you've got a Tuniq Tower that seems like it is too high for stock, unless you're in a really hot room. I would try maybe reseating the heat sink, or you could try a mild OC to like 3.2 and see how hot it gets, if it's under 60* you should be fine. I've got an Arctic Cooler Freezer 7 Pro and it keeps the temps around 37 on idle with an OC of 3.4 and about 58 on load.
