These are the stats I've settled on. I haven't made any purchases yet, so I'm posting the specs here for advice. Would you do something different? Please keep in mind I am finding a good bang for the buck.

Processor: Intel E6600 (Dual Core)
Motherboard: Asus p5w64 WS Professional
Video card: ATI Radeon x1900xt 512mb
Ram: G.Skill 2 gigabytes (PC2 6400 Dual Channel Kit, 4-4-4-12) Model #: F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ
Sound Card: Creative Labs SoundBlaster X-Fi XtremeMusic (the basic card, not the Platinum or Elite edition)
Power Supply: OCZ GameXStream 700W Power Supply. Model: OCZ700GXSSLI
Hard drives: Two 74 GB Western Digital Raptors in Raid 0 configuration
Cooling: Zalman VF900 GPU Cooler for video card
Cooling: Thermaltake Big Typhoon CPU Cooler
Thermal paste: Arctic Silver 5 on both GPU and CPU

Make sure to get the Big Typhoon VX instead of the regular one, the stock fan is better You might also want to look into an X1950XTX instead of the X1900XT. But other then that, everything looks great

A very reputable source told me there wasn't really a difference between the XTX and the XT other than price, so I decided to stick with the XT.

From my own investigation, it appears the only difference between the XTX and the XT is 1550 MHZ ram on XTX, 1450 MHZ ram on XT. Which, in reality, might be 1 fps different?
