ok my current build id

INTEL P4 3.4 ( non oc )
1gb RAM
2 x 80GB SATA
INTEL D915GAV MOBO
NVIDIA 6600
AUDIGY SOUND CARD

ok now i blew my pc power supply yesterday
so i am going to get a new one today

my question was that i have the option of changing to mobo to a P5LD2
since i wanted to oc the current processor

and also i want to upgrade with this mobo to a CORE 2 DUO
should i change the board only when i get the CORE 2 DUO or should i wait

second...does using the board like early now, would this pose a problem if i upgrage the processor later as in will the performance of the board drop if i upgrade it now with the p4 insted of doing so with the core ??

THANKS

PS.NO FEED BACK ON THE CHOICE OF MOBO PLEASE THANK YOU !!!

If you go with the Intel mobo, I doubt it supports C2D systems... But the P5LD2 definitely supports it, so if you want to change mobo now, it's quite alright...

ok so i should change the mother board right now ???
but then when i later change to core duo wont like the mother board be a little worn out since i would have overclocked the 3.4 till as far as i can take it

or do you think the performance will be the same even when i change the mobo ???

Well, worn out certainly, but are you going to keep your rig for 10 years or so ? I think even "worn out", a motherboard will stay alive for a long long time... Since I started with PCs 10 years ago, I've never had one mobo breakdown...

What they're basically saying is that the P5LD2 is very good for the price...
