I have a buddy who gave me 500 bucks and wants to build a pc but I haven't been following builds in forever so I have to ask. Best way to spend 500 on parts.

Will need, mobo, CPU, memory, PSU, SSD (250gb at least), case.

I got his gpu and windows covered. I'm gonna buy him and myself the new and 480 GPUs once released.

This is what I came up with.

Intel i5 6400 (skylake) (190.00)
Ripjaws ddr4 8gb 19200 (30.00)
Asrock z170 pro4s (80.00)
Rosewill Capstone 650w (84.00)
Crucial bx200 240gb (64.00)
DIYPC J180 case. (50.00)

Case pic: he likes the case he picked it http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811353098&ignorebbr=1

Anyways that's 492.00 shipped. Thoughts?

Not that this is important since he won't be overclocking, the 550W EVGA SuperNOVA G2 is a much better PSU and is only $80 shipped:

You dont need a 650 watt PSU for that system so you can save a little bit by going with a 550 watt.

This PSU is not only cheaper then the Capstone its also much better

Ok thanks the reason I chose the Capstone was because it's 74.00 on sale till tomorrow. The g2 is 86.00 for the 550w on newegg and 89 for the 650w

Amazon charges tax which makes the 550w 86.00 shipped. I don't mind picking the g2 over the Capstone even at 10.00 more since u say it's better

The difference in quality isn't anywhere near as important for a build like this (because it won't be overclocked), but that price makes it foolish to buy that Capstone. Also, the Capstones aren't as good as they used to be.

Then he will have no problem having two RX 480s.
