Does putting a rig together from other crappy PCs count? If so I was 8. I got my first PC at the age of 5. Ahh good times. And built my "first" PC with new parts at 16.

I was.... 15? I built a 486 for my friend, and I was jealous because my computer at home was a 486 sx-25. I built him a 486 dx, but it had the math co-processor, and I remember his ran at 66Mhz. God, he seemed like batman fast then! We spent a weekend building it, eating a sheet pizza, a bucket of wings, 2lbs of peanuts, and 6 liters of jolts. No wonder I'm on a weight loss program now.... and doing well I might add!

I built PCs with my dad my whole life though, as he was a self-employed computer programmer who wrote code for trade union accounting. I remember sitting on his knee and hitting carriage return on his old tandy computer, with a 1 MB hard drive! WOW! The floppies were over eight inches, and you had to SCREW them in with a philips. My brothers commodore 64 was "newfangled."

And now I have my sig rig. A lifelong love affair...

When I'm dying on a hospital bed, my life before me eyes will be from colecovision to whatever playstation or xbox is around then...
