I got this today from Newegg. I bought it open box and I'm starting to feel there was a reason this was returned...

Anyways. It posted fine the first time. I installed drivers and then restarted. After that, I set a small overclock. When I hit F10 to restart, the rig restarted but the video never came up.

Without a hard reset between every change, the video doesn't come up.

So that's all fine and dandy, but now when I try to boot, it is the slowest thing ever. The text that Windows loads to ask if I want to boot into XP or 7 loads one letter at a time. When the Windows 7 splash screen finally comes up, the four colored orbs move a frame every few seconds. In fact, I'm running on 10 minutes for the boot right in front of me.

It's happening, it's just really slow.

So far, this has been a terrible purchase. I'll RMA as a last resort... but I want to get this thing working.

0402. I'm about to upgrade to 0602.

Is 0402 that bad? I can't believe that they would release a BIOS that would do all this stuff I'm experiencing.

Anyways, I'll let you know if a BIOS update works.

It's not bad, I didnt have any probles with it. I asked because updating your BIOS might fix some of the problems.

Updating the BIOS did not help. I watched the the ROG connect thing and it's actually booting... it just doesn't start the VGA BIOS. I saw a setting that was like S3 VGA BIOS RESUME so I tried that... but no luck.

You should buy a brand new on tigerdirect.com for $300 free shipping. RMA back to newegg.com - free shipping or RMA to Asus.

Have you tried different PCI-E slots? Make sure all your PCI-E slots are set to 'ON' on the switched where the memory DIMM are.

They are all set to on. I've tried the first and second.

If I change any settings at all in the BIOS it won't boot. It's stopped the slow boot thing.

I was able to boot up at 4.2GHz once earlier. Not any more...

Anyone using one of these with a 920 want to throw their settings my way? I'm really not liking how this BIOS is laid out. Maybe I'm missing something.

Man this is so weird. I really hate it when people dont get the satisfaction for what they paid for.

What are your settings it the bios? When you OC do you use CPU level up? Maybe you are not putting enough voltages on the memory or CPU? This happens to me too when I start an OC and dont put enough voltages.

Is there a BIOS template for this somewhere? I'd prefer not to type everything out.

EDIT: Found one... Updating with settings.
