I would get the P5WD2-E not the regular P5WD2 (the -E is 975x) as those ones overclock quite a bit higher but thats just me .

The P5WD2-E doesn't require a RAM change, and it is the current flagship for Intel motherboards. That is the best motherboard possible, and if you want to do it right, you will go with the 975X.

With 975x he also will have the option of upgrading his processor to a conroe when they come out
