So in the last 2 years I've had this board it has so many crumbs and other food particles inside it that when I shake it, it literally sounds like erasing an etch a sketch. I figured the screws are hidden underneath the rubber grips on the edges. I have taken apart other standard non mech boards apart to clean them and those are no problem. My concern is since this is a mech board, if I take it apart is there a chance something could fall out of it's place and make it hard to put together?

There's nothing to worry about. they're extremely simple. just a PCB board in a case really. just be careful not to break the plastic on the case when taking it off. there are clips holding the case together, and if you force them you'll snap something. (happened to me)
