You can get the fancy touchpad and 10 keys on the new SWTOR keyboard. Its 250. So even at retail price only $100 of that almost 4k is for the fancy touchpad. Which would get annoying. Id rather keys 1-6 be lit up with the pictures, not ones I cant reach/ have to leave main gaming space to press.
I guess they never thought this laptop through. Maybe one of those Razer guys were like sitting at a desk one day like a round table with his co-workers at lunch and had a great idea: "Lets make a laptop that can have pictures on the keys and make it DO STUFF!"
The only logical explanation is that it's a halo product (think, Ford GT40, Lexus LF-A). Nobody's going to buy it, but hey, it's expensive and looks riced out so Razer must be a good brand. Of course, it even fails as a halo product because the main criteria for gaming laptop isn't HP Pavilion performance with an LCD numpad and green backlit keyboard in a stolen Macbook Pro chassis powder-coated in a flat black.
