I'm still using my 2 year old Lenovo T61p laptop. It runs great, with 4gbs of ram it feels plenty fast. I was even able to play Mass Effect 2 with it, although a little bit sluggish.

I'm glad that there are so many of you who are happy with
their laptops

let me ask, fellow bad-laptopers, did the stores you bought
them in not tell you about their bad qualities

My asus gaming laptop was a beast but I regret paying $1600 for it (sold it for $600 recently)

My hp touchsmart maxes out at 105C running linx. Yep you read that correctly 105C. I even took it apart and put on IC diamond.

I game on my laptop (HP Pavilion dv6t, also my sig-rig) without any sort of problems, but like you, I will never by Acer again

great experience with all the laptops I own. then again I researched them for a while before purchase

Dell Latitude D610 - 1.6GHz single-core Pentium M, Intel 915GM IGP, 2GB DDR2-533, 160GB HD, XP 32-bit Professional
Asus X83VP -2.53GHz dual-core Core 2 Duo Mobile, HD4670 discrete, 4GB DDR2-800, 500GB HD, Win7 64-bit Professional

the Dell's casing is pretty much FUBAR after 5+ years; there's cracks pretty much everywhere. however, it's still a snappy laptop and everything important is intact and functional. It's used around the house nowadays, no more bouncing around in my bookbag all day long

the Asus makes a good LAN machine and fairly decent desktop replacement. Although my desktop (sig rig) isn't exactly powerful by todays standards haha. It stays in my bookbag til I need it, which I'm usually carrying around.

I also troubleshoot and maintain my extended family's laptops as well. a Toshiba Satelite desktop replacement, a souped up Dell Inspiron, and a Dell Studio 15. Once I clean install the OS upon receiving, they've all been chugging happily for a year or more.

Current Audio bits 'n piecesWarning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

DAC: USB GrubDAC for portable and Xonar DS
Current FOTM: USB DAC/Amps for my laptop

Headphones: HD205, HD555, HD580, HA-RX900, ATH-A700, ATH-EM7, RE0
HP Amp: Mini^3 portable or Millet MiniMAX (12FM6 tubes)
Speakers: Sealed Tritrix mains, Dayton DCS205-4 in powered box
Speaker Amp: Dayton DTA-100a

My Dell Inspiron spent many hours (20 a week at one point!) playing CoD4 with the graphics card overclocked. I wouldn't hesitate to hop in it and drive it across the country ... wait... not a car. but still!

Probably only two laptops that screwed me over.

My old presario v2630us (mobo failed after warranty ended, hp refused to replace)

And my now current dv7 that I just got back today from having battery issues. Apparently both the battery and mobo had to be replaced due to a short from what an HP tech said...

Laptops that haven't failed me:

Dell Inspiron e1505
IBM Thinkpad T23

I own a 360 and PS3. I don't favor one over the other as both have their pros and cons, which is to be expected.
