I'm gonna give the web apps thing a go in a lil bit.

Just installed XFCE 4.10 from source on debian testing. Seems pretty good, so i'll probably make some debs this weekend and throw them in my repo. Which reminds me, I need to put my cinnamon debs in there too. thumb.gif

Anyone around here still using debian?

played with LMDE for a few hours on a LiveCD. I liked it enough I've replaced my FreeBSD install with it. I'm like the fact that out of the box it's doing 95% of what I want. In time I'll go back and get FreeBSD to do what I'm currently able to with Mint. I'm also wanting to try something new vs re-plow old territory.

I've been playing with Fluxbox on Debian for a while. I'll probably move on to Arch soon, though I'm kind of reluctant to learn something completely different since I'll have to go back to Ubuntu when Steam is released.

While I'm here, can anyone link me to a working guide on installing AMD video drivers in Wheezy?

now theres good question. last time I checked (~ 1 month ago) the AMD drivers are not in the non-free repo for some compatibility reason. why, are you having trouble with the free ones?

Yeah, I read it has something to do with a new version of Xorg, but that was a while ago and I was hoping they would have fixed it by now. I'm using the default drivers and getting really bad tearing. Is there some other driver that I'm missing?

I just installed the ones off there site. Worked fine for me (7850). If you do that, and get it working, there might be some annoying amd logo on your screen. If so, let me know, I have a script to get rid of that tongue.gif

How did you install it? I'm trying to build the package but it's giving me an error.
