The corsair's should be okay

Another route you could take is downgrading yourself to a 7600gt and buying 2gb of RAM

It would be a decrease but depending on when you will be upgrading to DX10 it might the better choice

@ ram, stay with the 2x512, it will OC better than 2x1GB, and for 200-220CAN, your not going to find any 2x1GB that will match the FSB's of the Gigabyte S3 + E6300. You really have to spend over 300 CAN if you want a decent set of 2x1GB sticks. Get the Team Group as posted above, since that will give you decent timings for the price. The x1950Pro is the best value card (for 200-230CAN) on the market, so I don't see the point in downgrading that.

yeah the x1950 feels good. not excessive, good price, will last me till dx10 is required. i dont really like the idea of havin only one stick, defeats the purpose of dual channel, and then you get stuck later trying to match the pair. as availability seems to change very quickly lately. i really have no intent of going dx10 till late 07 at the earliest.

He makes a good point with the 1GB stick. As you know, it's like 1% difference dual channel vs. singe channel.
