4-4-4-12 at 800mhz isn't bad at all, and that ram will probably run even faster. For the best performance, run the ram at the highest speed you can. I don't know what board you plan on using, but you should have the option for several multipliers, so hitting DDR2 800 shouldn't be a problem.

Well, Patriot is supposed to be a good brand, I like Corsair and OCZ myself, but, that's mostly just preference.

Too fast? Well, it's a reletive term. The ram's base clock IS higher than your board will support, but that just means that it will default to the mobo's highest supported speed. So you paid for something you aren't using......BUT, it just means you won't have to buy new RAM when you upgrade boards in the future.

No, the ram runs in dual channel, that is, each stick runs at 333mhz (stock speed), so 2 sticks = 667mhz or PC5400. (they didn't want to call the ram 666mhz for obvious reasons)

The fsb on Intel based boards is "quad pumped". It's an Intel marketing term. The actual fsb of the board is 200mhz, but Intel calls it an 800mhz fsb.

DDR2 has higher timings than DDR1, but it makes up for it with high bandwidth.
