.. shall i go for it, and just shrug on the guild wars logo on it?
or get the newer version (3.5G) Black Edition or the normal one, i'd lean towards the normal one

i've heard numerous posts some time ago that the sensor of the 1st generation DA is a bit superiror to the new sensor of the newer DA. is it negligible or not?

so what shall i do?i'm planning on using the PureTrak talent and i also wanted to buy a razer goliathus since it's so cheap but don't know if Speed or Control, heard both arguments and lots of them refute each other :S

so take all of this into consideration plz ^_^

the original deathadder is pretty dang good, and the newer one i heard tracks best at 1800 DPI. so dont make DPI your deciding factor.

i believe the old deathadder uses prediction, and the new one does not. hopefully someone can confirm this.

actually, i think you can check by going to the description for the firmware for both mice.

The old da had firmware that could disable "drift control" or angle snapping.

I had two of the original 1800 DPI DAs I bought back in like 2007. Sold one like 2 years ago on CL and still have the other which works perfectly fine but the rubbery texture on the mouse is definitely not in perfect condition due to usage. But yeah I liked it a lot and it's a good mouse.

hm the guild wars edition is listed to be available since October 2007, so i guess it must be the 3g V2, and hopefully not the 3G V3.
tbh, i'm deciding between BE and the 3g V2 now, 3.5G or 3G V3= do not want^^

I'm surprised you'd want the DA:BE if you don't want the 3G V3 or the 3.5G. If the liftoff distance is a problem for you the black edition won't suit your needs.

However the black edition feels amazing and personally I wouldn't be surprised if you compromised functionality, in the form of a higher lift off distance for its superior mousefeel.

Honestly though, if you don't mind cleaning your mouse (or if you don't mind a grimy mouse) I'd go for the 1800 dpi deathadder. Or if you're lucky enough build a 3G V3 Black Edition deathadder .

Also, many people report that the Guild Wars deathadder has a higher liftoff distance than the 1800 DPI 3G. Most of these posts came from <2008 so I believe the guild wars edition is a 3G V3.
