First 24'' Trinitron:
http://www.accurateit.com/details.asp?iid=203
$749.00

Second 24'' Trinitron:
http://www.accurateit.com/details.asp?iid=156
$549.00

I can't see the difference? The actual Vertical Refresh Rate is the same - its a bit higher at 1920x1200 on the $749.00 model and I know that its a Sony and the other is an HP and that they're both refurbs but I just can't get it?

Any idea which one to get? I would get a cheaper 20-22'' CRT but I'm spoiled by Widescreen now

It may be because CRT monitors for PC's are so few and far between as of now (compared to the LCD market), that the prices don't have much to be based on. That's just a guess though.

PS: And why go with a CRT? Just curious.

I think, therefore I am.

I agree with Choggs' point. Also, the HP is OEM, while the Sony appears not so. I can almost guarantee the Sony is newer than the HP because of the style - all of these factors combined plus the "Sony name" can contribute to the price difference. They may also feel they can sell the Sony for more because it looks flashier.

CRTs rule, by the way.

A $500 LCD couldn't touch that lol.

You're right, but it's not that. It won't touch it, not it can't. It wouldn't want to touch something so fat and hideous, not to mention ON FIRE.

You can get a 24" LCD that would own that in every way. Including having inputs like HDMI, DVI, VGA, S-Video among others.

Because I hate LCDs - I've been through 3 LCDs so far and I'm midlly satisfied with the one I have.

They ghost, have horrible refresh rates, and color issues

I understand the CRTs are heavier and consume as much power as a Nazi war factory but the fact is they're better for gaming - I could care less about their weight and how much space they take up.
