Building new rig and decided to purchase a monitor that I could double as screen to play my console games on. My question is should I look for a monitor or a lcd tv that could double as pc monitor. I am not big on too many pc games so the majority would be console games. Also planning to by a blu-ray player but I am not gonna have a cable box connected to it.

Your going to want to look for a monitor so it will have a faster response time then the average TV.

Just get an lcd pc monitor that takes hdmi, and response time is another factor as already mentioned.

Yes because pc lcd monitors, in general, have better specs than lcd's made for tv anyway.

8ms is bad, 5ms is good.
