I have a very old Linksys wireless-G router, that is set up in my garage and has dd-wrt installed on it. I just got a brand new motorola surfboard modem and my wireless only makes it into the front room.

some back story, it sits in my garage at 30degrees and I try and turn the radio up and it does not make any difference. I use inSSIDer to test this. I want a new router and possibly an Access point but I do not know how to set one of these up..

my budget is roughly $150 for a wireless router.

Any help would be appreciated

Assuming you have a rather big home you can check out the Amped Wireless stuff.

Pretty good range with up to 8000sq ft with pretty strong antennas which are detachable.

I remember seeing somebody on OCN getting one a couple weeks back with good reviews.
