  • GPU: GeForce GTX 950M; Intel HD Graphics 4600
  • CPU: Intel i7-4720HQ
  • Benchmark: Unigine Heaven
  • GPU Monitor: GPU-Z
  • GPU Overclocker: MSI Afterburner

Base benchmark resulted in around 13 fps and temp 60C. Overclocked slowly until I reached around 17-19 fps. Temp stable around 63C. Benchmark crashed. Now even at base, benchmark results in 5 fps with temp 51C. Overclocking in Afterburner doesn't change performance. CPU Core Clock and Memory Clock seem to be stuck at the same number no matter what I do to it (even if I underclock).

Not sure where to go from here. I tested games such as Overwatch and Dark Souls 3 and both games run at decreased fps.

Need help. Thank you in advance.

You restarted after the crash, right? If you don't the driver stays in a low performance "safe" mode.

Forceman's Law: Any AMD/Nvidia GPU thread, no matter what the topic, will eventually include a post referencing the GTX 970.

Thank you for your input!

I've restarted PC multiple times but it didn't help at all.

I did get a solution from a kind user from Reddit who suggested the following:

Disable and reenable GPU from device manager.

Didn't know something so simple could fix the problem.

I've heard that uninstalling and reinstalling drivers also helps if anyone is struggling with the same problem.

Thank you again for your help!

Now I just need to figure a way out to mark this thread as solved.

Shut your PC down. Pull the plug, press the power button for 10 seconds. Plug it back in, start up, and check it.
