Just get a Accelero Extreme III (Preferably not the IV since the VRM cooling on the IV is pretty much non-existent) or get a Gelid Icy VIsion Rev 2. I use a Gelid since the Accelero is too long for my case with front-mounted CPU rad. Keeps a 980 @ 1.275v 1557Mhz under 65c load.

It will fit a MSI Gaming btw since the basic PCB lay-out is identical to reference. Just different components and different VRM.

I think you can even keep the black aluminium baseplate for VRM / VRAM attached when using a Gelid. Not sure about the Accelero but I think you can.. I could on my 780 Ti Gaming with both of those coolers and the PCB design doesn't look that much different on the 980 tbh.
