Hi everyone! Recently I got ultrawide monitor 34" 3440x1440 and it's amazing. After upgrading to ultrawide from 1080p, I noticed that my gpu struggles a bit to run most games at the settings I want to run (Maxed out basically) And since second hand 980ti prices are dropping, I wonder if I should be another one or should I wait for 1080ti?

Unless you want to wait a long time I would get another 980ti. The 1080 just released and there is barely any stock anywhere.. I highly doubt Nvidia will drop the 1080ti soon when they can't even supply 1080's and we still don't have the next Titan released yet even. I would guess 1080ti summer 2017. But then again these are just predictions.

I agree, the 1080 Ti is far away. The 980 Ti was released 9 months after the 980. As said, there is a serious supply issue with these new 1080 cards that won't end anytime soon.
I'd guess late Q1 or early Q2 would be the earliest a Ti model would arrive. If Nvidia continues the trend the Titan will be launched long before the Ti, and neither are anywhere in sight.

I would grab a second 980 Ti, then wait for Volta.

Then looks like second 980ti is a way to go. Even though we don't have huge supply issue with the 1080 in norway, it's quite a small difference in performance compared to overclocked 980ti none the less I paid half the price of 1080 for 980ti with waterblock and backplate so 1080 is not worth for me. However if I have to wait that long for 1080ti, I will probably get second 980ti instead.

Well, this was just posted. I assume 1080ti will have similar performance to the new Titan. If that's true, it will be as powerful as couple of 980ti's in SLI mad.gif
