I'm planning on having two of these cards in SLI. However, I'm on a budget of 1000 USD, so I was wondering which one of these would be the best for me.
9600GT
8800GT
8800GTS
I haven't decided on a mobo either, so the 8800GT would help a bit because I could get a 780i for 20 bucks less...
Thanks for the help.

Can we see the rest of you build? What type of monitor would you be gaming on? The 8800GT is a solid choice up until 1680x1050, after that the GTS would be a better option.

I'm deciding on using one of the nForce 700 series mobos.
Umm, monitor, either 19", 20", or 22"
Memory I'm probably gonna stick with an OCZ reaper for DDR2 800, I'll use Corsair if I need DDR2 1066.

I'd say the 8800GT, you can get it now for just slightly more than the 9600GT, at about $170-ish, I believe. At the resolution that a 22" monitor will do (1680x1050), a pair of these will perform beautifully. If you're really looking to tighten up the price, the 9600GT isn't a bad choice either.

Agree. $120 for 9600GT, $170 for 8800GT and $195 for GTS. If you get 22" LCD and extra $30 can be justified, get the 8800GTS G92.

Indeed, your monitor selection is very vague.

The 19" would be 1440x900, which a 9600 would be the optimal choice for the price. The 20.1" is 1680x1050, which the GT would do well, but the GTS better. Again, the 22" is 1680x1050, the same applies. The GTS would be the fastest of all, of course.

I guess I'll just get the rest of my build and see how much money I can spare.
Currently, I have a 19" CRT monitor that's pretty old.

Like I said, the 9600GT is a great deal for a 19" monitor, but it will struggle if you upgrade monitors.
