Oh I have had all kinds of crazy issues

my ballistix story: New kit poped in. Had them moderatly overclcoked to 4-3-3-8 915 mhz. 1 stick dies in 2.5 months.... 1 week later, nother stick dies. By the time it hit May (another 2 weeks) Another sitck had died. May 20th or so, all of my sticks were dead. I bought the PC sometime in March.

I had bought 4x1GB kit from some guy online for a previous build.... he wrapped them in a towel, none of the sticks were working. RMA's them and they still did not run at 1066 5-5-5-2.1V.

I've lost track of how many sticks I've killed. Ballistix, GSKill, Kingston...on and on and on.

Kubuntu. I almost used that. But I'm not a linux expert.
Gooda will change that when he gets a chance. Right now he's doing all sorts of graduation stuff. I see you got one in already. Awesome! Go Rough Riders. 300K or bust!

There's our fearless captain

Hey Gooda. Have fun with the graduation. Don't spend all the cash in one place.

Looks like FreeRoller is fixed up. And Franken has his PC fired up and already turned in a WU. "I love it when a plan comes together"

Sweet! Sounds great man

My rig is folding at the same pace with 8GB DDR2 4-4-4-12 805mhz than it was 2GB 5-5-5-18 795mhz..... ROFL. Then again it could be just a long unit I got...

In good news, my case came in today, its assembled but I am refraining from turning off the PC to load it up because I will need to do that again later anyhow when installing WC.

My Radiator was out of stock so I am waiting till monday for backorder. I am buying a CHROME RADIATOR! Lol it will be pimp.

Hopefully with WC keeping my TRUE out of the way, I can get a better cooling system on the NB. I reallllly don't want to add a NB waterblock kit to my loop, thats just too much

From what I've seen, the RAM speed is minor in comparison to the CPU. These new 8400's with their 6MB cache really make a difference. I'm still going to up my GSkills to their max: 2.35v 1000 @4-4-4-5. Let's see how long these last before I blow them to smithereens

Well Free...since you live in Arizona and that NB always heats up. You might wabt to consider adding that NB waterblock. Besides. We all know how much you like messing with your rig

When is comes to overclocking RAM. I'm sort of from the old school. I believe that stable RAM leads to a higher CPU overclock. Hence faster folding times. So I just run 5:4 or 1:1 and 5-5-5-15 and max out the CPU.

Oh man... I didn't even know there was a kit that could do DDR2 1000 @ CAS4, let alone 4-4-4-5 Thats crazy fast! You are bound to get an increase.

I want to see if my Ballistix will do DDR2 950mhz (to have a 1:1 FSB DRAM) but at CAS4. I would dispise my RAM if it cant do that at CAS4 with 2.2 V which is what these modules are rated for. Im undervolting them tho since they run stable at 2.15V 4-4-4-12 800mhz.

Lul, so true... Its really hot and my NB hates it. Hopefully I can mod the new mini-heatsinks i got in the mail today onto the Nb block to remove some heat.... But you know how I am with clocks... Anything less than fast is futile!~!!!!!!@#!@!@#
