Hi cappy, peroxide and HellgY,

Just an update. I put the P4 2.6C in and it's running now! It went rather easy actually. Anyway, I'll have 460 points added today and 575 tomorrow.... That should help our team score. Looks like we're all doing pretty well...

As for the heat issues. I have my main rig backed down to a 205 fsb (it's the P4 3.2C) Temps are 45-48degC The new rig is setting at stock settings for now. It's running 46degC. The older P4 2.53 oc'd to 2.66 is running at 45degC. So they're hotter than I like, but within reason. The A/C in the house seems to help the computers and the family. Or should that be the family and then the computers?? LOL...

Anyway, Fold on! :-)

That's weird, I haven't folded in a few months yet I still have the post bit. Haven't dropped all that far actually.

Hi cappy,

Alright!! W00t, W00t!!! You've passed a milestone...
Hey and just for some info on ram timings. The new rig I got running a couple of days ago is/was running totally stock voltages, fsb, ddr timings, etc.. I wanted it to great "burned in" a little. Here's the deal. My P4 3.2 was running a p2106 core at 14sec a frame. The P4 2.6 is running the same p2106 core at 20sec a frame. What's up with that, I thought. Based on the percentage difference between a 3.2 and a 2.6, the 2.6 should be running about 17 to 18 sec a frame.

So I'll I did was tighen up the timings from the factory SPD setting of 3,3,3,8 to 2.5,3,3,7. That's it!! The frames per second lowered to 18! I'd like to go lower, but the ddr is the Kingston value ram stuff and I don't know how tight it will go or how much extra voltage it will take... I guess ddr timings do make a difference with folding.

Based on the above findings, I'm going to play around a little and see what I get out of that value ram. In the meantime, I'll order 2Gb of Crucial Billistix ddr whick I know I can run at 2,2,2,6 timings... We'll see where we go from there.

Take care, :-)

Hey guys,

2 of my 3 rigs were folding a p2106 WU. One WU was on the P4 3.2C and the other one was on the P4 2.6C. Nothing weird yet. Well the WU on the 3.2C crashed. I got an error message stating that it was "un-stable" and had to shutdown. Bad deal I thought, but it's happened before and this time I lost 18 hours of work. It finished 4435/10000 frames.

Now the weird thing. The p2106 WU (202 points) uploaded and then downloaded a p2504 WU (195 points). Ok, but it kept the total of 4435!! It also kept the same timing to finish, that is tomorrow at 5:30pm EST...
I just checked it after 2 hours of folding and it shows 4735 frames completed of 5000!!

Man this is weird! Have you ever heard of this??? Did one WU exchange itself for another??

Take care and fold on!
