who lol? steam is great!

EDIT: The only things I don't like about steam are you HAVE to have it open to run a game which is a pain in the ass and oh don't get me started with bf3. screw ea. anyway also the fact that you need to have internet for some features.

Because using a service like Steam essentially puts a product you paid for in the hands of big brother who is delivering it to you when you need it. I'd rather manage the game I paid for myself.

Steam has the authority to ban accounts and essentially terminate all access to your games at their own will. They collect personal data. More importantly, they are the ones who own your game, not you.

In addition, there is that annoyance and hassle of having a master application to control all its sub-applications, per se.

Have you ever 'lost' access to a game you bought? I had to contact support to get a game back. It would be nice to not need to have it running all the time to play a game too. I use steam and all but it does try to control you like MS and Apple.

Sure they can ban/terminate your account for any reason they would like, but they don't, and haven't.

They collect personal data you say? Only if you Opt to let them collect data. They did not force you to allow them to collect data, you have the option to Opt out.

More importantly, they are the ones who own your game, not you.

Valve doesn't own every game on Steam, they only own the games they make. The rest of the games are being licensed to you by other Publishers/Developers but are being SOLD on Steam.

Some people prefer it, and other's don't. Valid reasoning though.

I personally use Steam as I've grown accustomed to it back in 2003. Games like CS required it, and I've honestly have yet to have a issue after all these years. Drop in the fact that they have excellent deals is a great plus.
