That's what I did when I first got my CV1. They're good to start with, just to get an idea of what's different. You had a DK2 as well before like me, right?

Ahhhh. Then I'd imagine it's far more impressive than going from a DK2 to the CV1!

Have fun! See you in a few days. tongue.gif Maybe in E:D. If you haven't tried it with VR before, you're going to LOVE it. I mean, that game makes the lowish res. much more obvious than other things (like Henry), but it's totally worth it.

My HTC Vive arrived!! Only it's being held by local Customs waiting to charge me some import duty. Hopefully they work efficiently tomorrow, otherwise I'll have to wait until Tuesday minimum (Queen's Birthday bank holiday).

Do you have a wheel & pedal set? Only way to play in IMO.

So are you keeping the Rift?

OK, so Elite Dangerous is absolutely stunning with x 2 per pixel display pixel override and I can run it comfortably. The way it scales in VR , the immersion is total.

Just done an hours session and as with everything else so far no hint of VR sickness.

Downloaded most of the free stuff from OH. Most of it is fluff but worth seeing once.

My kids watched Henry and did Dreamdeck, they liked it surprisingly.

Bad news is it's a tad better with my glasses on, which is a shame because they really don't fit inside the HMD properly. I will have to get some of those custom fit prescription lenses I think. Still that's my fault not the Rifts.

Care to elaborate a little more on that? I just played Elite Dangerous for the first time on my Vive yesterday and I'm curious as to how you did it.

I used the Rift SDK debug tool. Doesnt work on Vive, its similar to Nvidia DSR but it only applies to the headset. I was unable to detect any loss of frame rate, so either i was maintainng 90 fps or AWD compensated.

So my HTC Vive is stuck at local Customs. Shipped Wednesday, arrived Thursday, awaiting Customs clearance. Now have to wait until Tuesday due to the Queen's Birthday bank holiday Monday! frown.gif Then they'll say they had a backlog and with the Gibraltar government summer hours, I'm in for some waiting time. In the time it will be held by Customs, the parcel could literally travel from Gibraltar to China and back. That's how much delay I will be subject to.
