Previously known as Nokia Glee, the Lumia 525 is said to be a minor update over the wildly popular Lumia 520. The device is rumored to be announced before the end of the year.The first press render of the Lumia 525 surfaced online as well on Chinese Baidu site.

•Speed: 3G HSPA+ (21Mbps).

•Processor: 1 GHz Dual-Core Snapdragon™ 400.
•Camera: 5MP autofocus, video recording HD 720p 30fps.
•Size: 119.9 x 64 x 9.9mm.

It sounds like it's just a 520 with twice the available RAM. All of the other specs are the same. It would be a meaningful upgrade over the 520 if Glance is supported on the 525, but I don't see any mention of that.

The 520 is an already an awfully good phone for the price Nokia sells it for, so I guess any improvement in its specs is a good thing, though.

Not sure why they are bothering to bump the RAM up. I don't think the 520 has any issues at 512MB. But I base that on second hand knowledge from my less techy wife. (Lumia 625 here.) I guess if they just straight up replace the 520 with the 525 it'd be cool.

Never had any issues on my 520. Supposedly, some apps don't run on only 512MB, but I've yet to run into one.

W8 mobile is pretty good at storing previously used apps inactive in your RAM. It's faster and more energy efficient to take it back out of RAM than it is to completely open and close the application from the flash memory.
