Never skimp on a PSU. Ever.
Its like buying a Diablotek 1050w PSU.

The OCZ ZX 1000W is great, and superior to the Corsair HX1000 in every way. If you can get it for cheaper, the Sparkle Gold 1000W is the same unit as the OCZ ZX 1000W. The Silverstone Strider Gold 1000W would also be nice. Whichever you can get the cheapest.

It was my bad, i meant the OCZ ZX1000 not Z1000. I think it's in the recommendation list on OCN as well. Johnny guru gave it 9.5 total and almost 10 in performance so i think ill give it a try. I just placed an order with Amazon 1min before the cut off time for local delivery biggrin.gif. I'll test to see how the ZX1000 does later today, if anything i can just return it to amazon.

Don't get OCZ or CoolerMaster and theAntec Quatro's have several problems with them (I think that was the 1.2Kw unit though)

Go for the HX1000, the HX series are so close to the AX in terms of efficiency some of them are actually qualified for Gold 80+. Ripple suppression is also very nice. You just have to make sure you run the graphics cards off of separate 12v rails that's all. It is far from outdated.

On a side note, I would still say you could run that off of an AX850 tongue.gif

You're wrong about that, not all the HX units are built the same, and the HX1000 is far from the level of quality found in the HX750 and 850, it's also nowhere near as efficient. It's 80 Plus rated, the HX750 and 850 are 80 Plus Silver rated. The HX1000 is an outdated and overpriced unit, truly.

It's two 500w units, so juggling the load on anyone 500w unit can be the difference between hero and loser. Ax1200 or on a budget Antec TPQ. I've severely hammered 2 HX1000s, and while they're are decent when you get close to maxing either of the units, it all goes to crap. I'm on my 2nd rma lol. Just moved to a TPQ 1200.

Good choice...ZX1000 is probably the only one I'd consider.

(aside from the AX1200 and Antec HC1200)

As painfully expensive as they may be, don't ever cheap out on a PSU.

I'd never skimp out on PSU smile.gif. I might be consider between PSUs but i would never get a cheap one. I considered the ZX1000 because it got good scores by JG as well as being in OCN recommend list biggrin.gif.
