It's only $8, it's not like I'm asking him to sell his kidney to pay for a good PSU

seems my reply was irrelevant to the discussion.

# Voltage Specifications: for the last psu i linked...
# 115/230 V voltage
# 60/50 HZ frequency
# +3.3, 45 A
# +5, 50 A
# +12, 22 A
# -12, 0.8 A
# -5, 0.5 A
# +5V, 2 A

i was planning on upgrading to this psu when i get my new mobo, is there any reason i shouldnt get this one?

Think about how it's getting to "680 watts". 45A on the 3.3v, 50A on the 5v and only 22A on the 12v. Doing the math, that brings you to 438 watts...slightly short of 680.

That PSU is a POS and is likely to explode if you put a real load on it PSUs are something you don't cut corners on, expect to pay $100-200 on a good one.

Cheap PSU's don't last, they usually die out very quickly and go out taking everything it's connected to with it

If it is $130 max, on the dot, then go for the 600w GXS

If you can do $138 then go for the Silverstone
