Close enough

Pitcairn is still really good in terms of p/w

Ryzen is a joke to the vast majority of the market who would consider buying their product.

I agree. Considering that Bonaire came a year after Pitcairn, how exactly is it that Bonaire is a product that one should strive to replicate?

Like I said, underwhelming...

If you actually read the conversation i suggest that polaris 11 needs to be like bonaire because both are low end chips and polaris 11 needs to have the same p/w win as bonaire(instead of cape verde). Pitcairn was mid range and the fact that this chip survived 3 rebrands and still offers p/w close to 960 it is a pretty amazing feat.

Yes, Polaris 11 needs to have performance per watt near or better than the Pascal. Will it deliver? We will find out when it launches. A Bonaire "win" would be a failure considering that Pascal is already providing 70-80% more performance per watt than Polaris 10 and small Pascal will only increase this gap...

If they can reach the 2.7X claim with 470x then it should be close.

I suspect that Glofo LPP does not react that well with a lot of clocks

That 2.7x claim is stupid, because they are comparing it to 180w tdp 270x which in reality uses around 120w. so again it will be 1.8x at best. but we'll see.

Perhaps, but I have a feeling that the 1080, like the 980 will have the best or near the best efficiency out of all the chips. It also has the advantage of lower power RAM.
