- Its Quiet, Efficent and serves my needs well.

- I use it through 1GBps Network, A wireless N Router to Serve my needs.

- The upper 4 Drives are put in Coolermaster 4 in 3 Drive Bay.

- I use Map network drive to access the content and control via Remote Desktop Connection as its headless.

- What you guys think ? any far suggestions ?

Thats a pretty sick server. Personally, I would have gone with WHS or Linux. And a 700 Watt PSU is a little overkill for a low power server. And The space between the third and fourth drive is really annoying me. I hate OCD. Other than that. Great sever, I wish I could have one like that.

As the creator of this thread, I should have a server, and now I do. Nothing specian, just a P4 with a 500GB WD green.

OS: Ubuntu
Case: Dell Stock
CPU: P4 / 1 core W/ HT
Motherboard: Dell Stock
Cooling: Dell Stock
Memory: 4 GB
PSU: Dell Stock
OS HDD: 500GB WD Green for OS and storage -SATA
Storage HDD: None
Server Manufacturer: Dell

Currently, I just use it for a NAS around the house. I have separate folders for each computer/user in my house, but my family doesn't really care, and they don't use the server at all. Also, the server is barely audible. I have it connected with Gbit LAN and Wireless N, but none of the computers in the house have Gbit, except for mine.

A pic of the server, nothing special. I control the it with a remote desktop software.

What the networked folders show up as, in My Computer.

1. A Server is a computer that provides services used by other computers. For example a web server serves up web pages.

2. A Server is a computer program that has an associated Client program. This might run on the same computer or on another networked computer. MySql is an example of a database server program. Developers write clients that communicate with the server.

3. In computer networking, a server is simply a program that operates as a socket listener

4. A server computer is a computer, or series of computers, that link other computers or electronic devices together.

5. Servers often provide essential services across a network, either to private users inside a large organization or to public users.

Yes, a NAS is a server

My new systems: (click for bigger pic)
Front side

Back side (mind the cables)

And with the front door open on the top one.

The top one is my webserver that me and my friends use the bottom one is my pfsense box.

Webserver specs:
Athlon II x4 635
4gb (2x2gb) Gskill ripjaws, 1333mHz 7-7-7-21
Asus M4A78T-E mobo
1 x 500gb WD caviar black, 1 x 500gb 7200.12 Seagate thing (older than the back)
620w Seasonic S12II (Got it for $62 CAD, I love combo deals)
Norco RPC-470 chassis

Webserver roles:
-HTTP
-FTP
-Ventrilo
-Source servers (gmod will be coming soon)
-Minecraft
-Mediaserver for my home
-Backup/storage for machines around the house
-Anything else it needs to be

I apologize for not having any pictures of it's internals, i was in a rush to get everything built and back up. My only complaint thus far is that it needs more RAM, minecraft hogs a lot of it....

Love to see other peoples servers,
